ReplyDeleteI am searching for information on two country schools in Garfield Township. Harris School, shown in 1908 plat map on the corner of Harris? and Cedar Run? Lone Pine Schoolhouse, somewhere on Long Lake Road, south of Harris School? or are they the same school?
ReplyDeleteThe " In 1992, the log house was moved from its original location" stated on the Hessler log home was actually constructed on Lyon farm land and used as living quarters for migrant cherry farmers. Robert Lyon sold the log home to the Hessler family. Then moved to the museum. It was never a schoolhouse.
ReplyDeleteBirmley School was at the corner of Garfield and Birmley Roads.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Birmley, not Brimley (that's in the U.P.)
I am seeking information about the two-room East Bay Grade School on either Three Mile Road or our Mile Road. It was where I spent the 1st and 2nd grades in c1947-1949.
